The summer has gone by very quickly and Brothers Roofing was very busy performing numerous roofing repairs and roof installations throughout the Central New Jersey regions. The cities of Hamilton, Lawrenceville, Trenton, Princeton, Ewing, West Windsor as well as others in Mercer County were common grounds for much of our work. We took on both residential and commercial customers.
One recent job that stands out is an emergency repair that we performed at a local (privately owned) paint store here in Hamilton Township, NJ. When undertaking a roof replacement project, the roofing contractor should take the time to properly install your roof . Often, this is not the case, as either lack of knowledge or trying to cut corners causes the contractor to rush through the job. The end result is almost always a negative one, with the customer ending up with an improperly installed roof. The roofer should be skilled enough to not make common mistakes . Additionally, the roofer should price the work for good workmanship and not low enough to make sure they get the job. Pricing is important to customers, but we have been told that some of our local competitors tend to "low-ball" the prices just to get the job and then spend many days fixing the jobs that they rushe...

This may further cause damage to the roofing and sub-roofing materials. A proper roofing inspection needs to be performed to find the cause of the leak and fix the damage in a proper way. The worst thing a homeowner can do is not address a leak before winter weather sets in, especially given that more often than not the repair nee...

Our roof is the first line of defense that protects the home against the elements. Year round, the roof is battered by the sun, wind, and rain. Asphalt shingles are made here in the United States (some companies have plants in Canada as well) and usually make up a large portion of manufacturers such as GAF or Owens Corning product lines. Asphalt shingles are also commonly used during roof replacements due to the fact that they are easily adaptable to numerous slopes and applications, ease of installation, lightweight, and come in a variety of styles and colors. Based on these reasons, it is safe to say that shingle roofing has become the most popular in recent years.
